1. Watch the Parade
One of the first things that a lot of people do on Thanksgiving morning is turn on the T.V. to watch the parade. This year over 50 million people will be watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade live on T.V., and over 3.5 million people will be watching it in real life.

This is arguably the tradition that everyone looks forward to the most on Thanksgiving. Preparation usually takes the majority of the day, and the rest of the day is spent eating. Traditional foods include pie, stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce, and turkey.
3. Break the Wishbone
This tradition dates back to over 2,400 years ago. Each person grabs a side of the wishbone and pulls it; it has been widely known that a wish will be granted to whoever gets the biggest piece.
4. Watch Football
Americans have been playing football for almost as long as Thanksgiving has been a holiday. If you aren’t playing football on Thanksgiving, you are probably watching it. This year’s games will include the Eagles vs. the Lions, the Bears vs. the Packers, and the Panthers vs. the Cowboys.
5. Give Thanks
It’s so easy to forget what Thanksgiving is about with all of the exciting activities going on. This is the day to be more thankful than usual. Everyone gives thanks in their own way, whether they keep it to themselves or talk about it with their loved ones. Nevertheless, there are a lot of things to be thankful for.
