What do you teach?
Three classes of photography, one class of drawing, and one class of sculpture.
Which class is your favorite?
This is a tricky question. There are parts to all of them that I like, and there are drawbacks to others. To be honest, sculpture because I got my undergraduate degree in sculpture from Virginia Commonwealth University. Then I went to graduate school at University of Wisconsin in Madison and majored in sculpture and got a master in fine arts degree there.
What do you love about teaching at Andrean?
My mission is to enable the students to maintain and enhance their creativity, which I see as a tool which they can use in problem solving in any career they pursue.
What has been your favorite thing so far?
So much has happened in such a short amount of time. You know what I enjoy the most? Hallway duty. I just get to see students go by, and I started my wabi sabi, and I enjoy wabi sabi-ing the different students; so that’s my greatest pleasure here.
